The library's Books On Wheels outreach program made it bi-weekly visit to the seniors at Prairie Meadows. Pat Coy volunteered to come to the senior center this month and talk about birds and bird feeders. She brought different types of feeders and bird food that is best for different types of birds.
She asked the residents to talk about their favorite birds. Resident Barb Rath shared her bird book that also has the bird sounds. We all enjoyed hearing the bird calls and some mentioned that now they know what birds are making the sounds they hear outside their windows or when they go for walks.
The seniors really appreciated Pat and her talking about her love of birds and her ongoing battle of wills with the squirrels and rabbits.
Below are pictures of the seniors that shared their experience with birds.
