The forum on Renewable, Energy Independence and Climate Change will be held on Thursday,
March 27 at the library, from 6:30-8:00 pm. Brochures for the forums may be picked up at the library. Refreshments will be served.
The presenter will be Lou Schwartzkopf, Minnesota State University Professor of Physics. He will be addressing the question: Can Minnesota switch to renewable energy sources such as wind and ethanol fast enough to avoid shortages and mitigate the effects of global warming? His assessment of where we stand now and a possible target for sustainable future will be shared.

A series of 10 forums on rural sustainability have been schedules throughout Southeastern Minnesota to provide communities with information and tools to address pressing and complex issues. The forums have been organized by the Southeast Library System (SELS) and the University of Minnesota Southeast Regional Sustainable Development Partnership (The Experiemnet in Rural Cooperation).
