RADZoo Program
One of the highlights of the Summer Reading Program, the RADZoo was held at the KM Elementary School Gym for all childrens signed up for Catch the Reading Bug. The program included a collection of fascinating reptiles and amphibians, including frogs, a salamander, turtles, lizards, snakes, and a small alligator. At the end of the program the children could look closer at the amphibians and reptiles and touch the tortise and an albino python snake called Sunshine.
Some comments by the kids: "It was awesome!" "I liked touching the snake." "It was really cool." "The snake felt like rubber."

RADZoo Program Today at 1pm

We had over 54 children and their families at our Snakes Alive Storytime. The children enjoyed making, and coloring their snakes. Our Children's Librarian Ingvild does an outstanding job with the children.

Snakes Alive!!
Yesterday thirty plus children came to the Snakes Alive storytime with Children's Librarian Ingvild. The heard a story, saw a video and then the highlight was to make and color their own snake to take home.

FREE Family Movie Night at Kasson's North Park
A
fun family event being sponsored by KMTelecom. Darin Steffl, a young man in Kasson, is organizing Family Movie Nights at North Park this summer. The first movie night is this Friday, June 28th Bring your blanket or chairs and a snack. They will have a big screen and projector, showing "The Bee Movie" at 9:00 p.m. on Friday (6/27/08).

Wonderful World of Reptiles & Amphibians
The Kasson Public Libray will host its free large program to children who have signed up for the summer reading program Catch the Reading Bug this Thursday, June 26th at 1 PM at the KM Elementary Gym.
Jamie and Melissa Pastika of the Minnesota RadZoo (Reptile & Amphibian Discovery) will present the Wonderful World of Reptiles & Amphibians this presentations will be informative, engaging, and interactive. The program provides an enjoyable experience forthe audience, while instilling a greater understanding of these unique animals and the incredible lives they live. The presenters have a background with a combined experience of more than twenty years as professional animal keepers. They both have Bachelor of Science degrees, Jamie in zoo-science and Melissa in biology.
The program will include between ten and fifteen of our fascinating reptiles and amphibians, including frogs, a salamander, turtles, lizards, snakes, and a small crocodilian.
At the conclusion of our presentation the audience is provided an opportunity for the students to come up and take a closer look at our animals, including a chance to touch one or two of our animals in a controlled setting, after which we provide hand sanitizer to the students.

Catch the Reading Bug
In the last two weeks over 500+ children have signed up for the library summer reading program (SRP). If you have not have your child registered, there is still time to register so that they can enjoy all the fun.

Piano Students Perform at Praire Meadows
Pat Coy, local piano teacher, brought her students to perform for the Prairie Meadows residents and everyone throughly enjoyed the six perfomances. Pat is a member of the Friends of the Kasson Library and helps with the monthly Outreach program (Books On Wheels) with Library Director Bonnie Adams to provide entertainment and information to the residents.
