Halloween Spooktacular Event
The Friends of the Library October Halloween Spooktacular Event was well attended by the public on Monday night, October 22nd. The program centered around favorite scary stories of library staff, local patrons, and a guest from LaCresent area.
Library staff member Michael Riedel was the Grim Reaper and spoke on All Hallows Eve (Halloween) celebrations and traditions and introduced the readers. Pat Coy read a true story, "Horrors of Hefferon Hall" which takes place at St. Mary's College in Winona, Minnesota. Tarik Kamel read "Tell Tale Heart " by Edgar Allen Poe. Peter Petersilie from LaCresent read "A Surprise Guest" by R.L. Stine.
The public thoroughly enjoyed the stories and hearing them read was a special treat. The Friends would like to thank the readers for agreeing to read, their long hours of practice, and sharing their love of reading through ghostly stories.
